favorire la pesca ecologicamente sostenibile di pesci ornamentali e a migliorarne le condizioni di mantenimento. Nel
2009
il progetto, supportato anche dall’Università do Amazonas & Bio-Amazonia Conservation International, è stato
riconosciuto da un importante network per lo sviluppo sostenibile associato con le Nazioni Unite (SEED), come uno dei

products supports the Piaba project.
The cooperative is based in Manaus in Brazil and aims to support the local
fishermen for ornamental fish and to improve their social and economic interests. We support ecologically sustainable
collection of decorative fish, coupled to improved conditions for keeping them. The fisher cooperative, called “Orna-
pesca” has been in existence since 2009. The project is scientifically supported by the University do Amazonas &
Bio-Amazonia Conservation International. In 2009, SEED, a network for sustainable regional structure development
associated with the United Nations, recognised Eco-Amazon Piabas of Rio Negro as one of the 20 most valuable
projects in the world. This is one of the reasons that we wish to make a small contribution to thanking nature and the
people living from nature in this part of the world which is so important to those of us who keep an aquarium. You can
